Dear Search Associates Colleagues,

On behalf of the International School of Busan (ISB), Busan, South Korea Search Committee, I am pleased to announce that Dr. Kelly Kramer has been appointed as the Interim Head of School beginning in July 2026.

Dr. Kramer is currently serving in her 3rd year as the Head of School at the International School of Aruba. In her previous leadership roles, Dr. Kramer served as the Director of School at the International School of Dongguan, China from 2018 – 2023. From 2013 – 2018, she was the Superintendent at Colegio Internacional de Caracas, Venezuela. During her tenure at the aforementioned institution, she served as a Board Member for the Association of American School in South America from 2015 – 2018.

Dr. Kramer holds an Ed.D. from Edgewood University – Madison, Wisconsin, an MS in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from UW-Madison, an MS in Interdisciplinary Studies, from the State University of New York – Buffalo, and a BS in Education from UW – Whitewater, Whitewater, Wisconsin.

The ISB Board of Governors selected Dr. Kramer from a highly experienced and qualified group of candidates based on her considerable past leadership experience in International Educational Administration. Mr. Paul Edwards, Chairperson of the ISB Board of Governors shared the following about Dr. Kramer’s candidacy and appointment:

The Board is delighted to appoint Dr. Kelly Kramer as Interim Head of School at ISB. Throughout the search process, Kelly stood out for her depth of international school leadership experience, her calm and thoughtful approach, and her clear understanding of the needs of a school community during a period of transition. We believe she has the experience, judgement, and personal qualities needed to provide strong continuity of leadership while also helping ISB move confidently into its next chapter. We are very pleased to welcome her to the ISB community.

Dr. Kramer is eager to join ISB, Busan, South Korea and looks forward to serving as the Interim Head of School. In response to her appointment, Dr. Kramer shared the following:

I am truly honored and excited to join the International School of Busan as Interim Head of School. During my recent visit, I was deeply impressed by every aspect of ISB, from the welcoming community and beautiful campus to the strong sense of purpose that is evident throughout the school. What stood out most to me was the opportunity to visit classrooms and see students and teachers actively engaged in learning together. The positive relationships, energy, and enthusiasm I witnessed created a vibrant atmosphere that reflects the very best of international education.

I am grateful to the Search Committee and Board for their confidence in me, and I look forward to working alongside the talented faculty, dedicated staff, engaged parents, and exceptional students who make ISB such a special place. I am excited to become part of the ISB family and to support the continued success and growth of this remarkable school community.
